People in Fairfield spent the day out on the tennis courts Saturday to help fight hunger.
Organizers of the Paddle Against Hunger charity marathon say the funds raised support the Bridgeport Rescue Mission and its feeding program.
The event lends a hand to those in the community that need it most.
"You can't really put into words knowing that there are families locally that are benefiting by our efforts to help put food on their table," says Joe Murphy of the Patterson Club.
Members from The Patterson Club say they hoped to raise $50,000 to donate to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission.
