Fairfield University students got a welcome distraction today in the middle of finals week.

Several dogs were on the college campus today to help students feel less stressed.

"I think its a really great way to not have us stress because I know I get really stressed during finals," said student Beth McDonough.

Research has shown that just 18 minutes of petting an animal can help reduce blood pressure and heart rate.

All of the dogs who came to the Fairfield campus today are up for adoption.
