The family of 30-year-old Shawn Miller told News12 their grief is still fresh, even two decades later.
They're pleading with police to reopen the cold case so they can find closure.
Police said Miller was shot in the face on the steps of his home on Bruce Avenue in Stratford by an unknown man who came to his front door.
Miller's family is holding a vigil tonight at Bridgeport 's Majestic Garden & Field of Hope, Healing & Renewal on Main Street, dedicated to the victims of violence.
Investigators say Miller was pronounced dead at the Bridgeport hospital one hour later.
