The family of a Bridgeport teen says they are grief stricken after losing the 18-year-old in a car crash Thursday.
News 12's Frank Recchia visited the family of Destiny Arriaga who was killed in a car crash in Stratford.
Police say Arriaga was a passenger in a Honda Accord traveling south on I-95 in Stratford around 9:15 Thursday night, when the driver somehow lost control and crashed into a guard rail on the right shoulder.
Her family says she was generous, kindhearted and would help anybody in need. The Harding High School senior had turned 18 two weeks ago and was looking forward to attending nursing school after graduation.
The family told News 12, they want justice for Arriaga, demanding that whoever was responsible for her death be held accountable.
"If you were with her in the car and you're hearing this, please reach out to us, tell us what really happened that night," said Marta Hegab, Arriaga's mother.
A GoFundMe page has been set up in the teen's memory.
