Police are searching for a moped driver who struck a 3-year-old girl while she was walking on the sidewalk in Williamsbridge, the NYPD says.
Her family identified the victim as Mylah Rojah. They say she suffered a fractured skull with brain bruising and bleeding, a gash on her forehead, and a swollen eye.
The incident happened just after 1 p.m. Friday in front of 3041 Holland Ave.
The Rojas family says Mylah stepped out of her apartment building with her mother when she was runover by the man riding the moped.
“[The mother] just saw her baby basically being dragged away by this person,” said Robert Rojas, the victim’s uncle.
First responders rushed the toddler to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi.
“In the ambulance, I could hear the ambulance personnel saying, ‘Keep your eyes [open],” Rojas recalled. “Basically, my world was turned upside down.”
Thankfully, they say, the little girl is recovering and responsive.
“One day we’re having Thanksgiving dinner. Next day we get this surprising news,” Rojas said.

Police say the rider with heavy build and a medium complexion was last seen wearing an orange jacket, black sweatpants and black sandals.
They say the moped is blue with black stripes on the side.
