A Connecticut woman is playing in the Women's World Cup, and many residents came out to support her at a watch party in Trumbull.

Alyssa Naeher is a local legend in Trumbull. Almost everyone at Christian Heritage School has a story about how Naeher inspired them. They say her performance in Monday's game made them proud.

"She saved that goal so beautifully. It was just on the tips of her fingers and she jumped as high as she could. The tips of her fingers saved it," said Kelley Barney.
The goalie was a student at the school and still keeps in close contact with some of her classmates.

Team USA beat England 2-1 Tuesday.

They will play in the Women's World Cup final on Sunday.
