The father of 2-year-old Montrell Williams, who is accused of throwing his son into the Bronx River while he was still alive, pleaded not guilty to his charges.
Prosecutors say they have surveillance video that shows the alleged suspect standing on the overpass of the Bruckner Expressway with Montrell for a brief period of time before he is thrown into the river below on May 10.
According to court documents, Williams attended a Mother's Day party at his mom's house on May 10, an argument broke out and Williams left with Montrell. Family members attempted to track him down and confront him as to where Montrell was. He later showed up to his aunt's house that evening without the toddler.
Here's a timeline of Montrell's Disappearance:
On May 11, Montrell's mother attempted to report him missing to the NYPD. She says she was told by authorities that she could not file a missing person's report because the child was with his father.
On May 12, when Montrell still did not show up, his mother filed a petition in family court.
On May 28, a warrant was issued by a judge for Montrell.
On June 8, Montrell's mother was on the bus when she spotted Williams on the street. She got off the bus and approached him demanding him to tell her where Montrell was. Williams allegedly held a knife to her throat and said he threw the baby in the river.
On June 9, the NYPD sent dive teams into the river to search for Montrell.
Williams is due back in court on Oct. 9.
