The family of Jimmy McGrath has withdrawn a lawsuit against the owners of the Shelton home where the 17-year-old was killed in 2022.

Court documents show that the civil lawsuit was withdrawn Thursday "without costs to any party." Details surrounding the decision were not immediately clear.

News 12 has reached out to Michael Rosnick, the McGrath family lawyer and is waiting to hear back. The family still has several other lawsuits that are moving forward.

On May 14, 2022, McGrath, a Fairfield Prep student, was fatally stabbed by Raul Valle while at a party at the home of Ronald and Stacie Rich on Laurel Glen Drive.

The suit claimed that the couple supplied alcohol and knew minors were drinking underage. It also alleged that the couple did not supervise the party and or intervene when a fight broke out.

That fight led to four people, including McGrath, being stabbed. The three stabbing survivors testified during Valle's trial.

In July, Valle was found not guilty.
