Milford's mayor said Tuesday that his office has not been contacted in connection to an FBI investigation into how the city spent federal funds after Hurricane Sandy.
The city's Republican party chairman, Paul Beckwith, said several city workers were involved in the investigation.
"We've had several present and past city employees come to us and share that they had been interviewed by the FBI over the course of the last few months," Beckwith said.
Beckwith said he doesn't know specifics, but those employees said they were asked about how Milford spent its FEMA money for infrastructure projects.
Mayor Blake said he would welcome and cooperate with any inquiry into where Sandy money went. He released a statement to News 12 saying in part that he has reached out to investigators to see if they need anything from his office.
Milford received more than $6 million in federal grants after the 2012 storm.
