Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) members toured the Darien area Wednesday to see if the town qualifies for aid after last week?s powerful storm.
Darien First Selectwoman Evonne Klein has been pushing for state and federal aid. Workers from FEMA toured the damage with the town?s emergency management director.
Their first stop was to take a look at some local businesses hit hardest by the storm.
Some residents with personal property damage say they need help sooner than FEMA can provide it as rains are due to hit the region again Friday.
Darien Emergency Management Director Mark McEwan says property owners who experienced damage should let officials know so they can be put on a list if aid becomes available.
Another team from FEMA is on the ground in Stamford to determine if the city will qualify for federal disaster aid. Stamford could also get funding from the Small Business Administration (SBA).
