Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch held a series of seminars and housing fairs Friday to focus on the city?s foreclosure crisis.
Finch says he hopes he can foster solutions by bringing together financiers, the city government and the residents struggling to keep their homes.
?We have to have the financial institutions willing to take and redo these loans and keep people in their homes,? Finch says.
The mayor met with Citigroup members to talk about ways to remove the stigma the Bridgeport has from having the most foreclosures in the state. Finch says that status is having a ripple affect on the value of homes throughout the city.
Connecticut Housing and Finance Authority will hold another information session Saturday, May 17 to answer questions about mortgages.
