Fairfield firefighters put out a fire between a kids gym and and a paper company building last night.
It happened on Black Rock Turnpike just before 10 p.m.
An employee told police welding work had been going on in the area of the fire.
Fire officials say employees of CT Dismantling had been using cutting torches to remove steel pipes.
