Fire department pulls body from icy New Haven pond

A New Haven Fire Department water rescue team removed the adult male from the pond.

Police say a body was found in a pond in New Haven Saturday morning.
They say a passerby made a 911 call to report a body in the ice-covered Duck Pond of Edgewood Park just before 9 a.m.
A New Haven Fire Department water rescue team removed the adult male from the pond.
Authorities say the man was transported to the hospital where was pronounced dead.
Officers remained at the scene to continue investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the New Haven Police Department at 203-946-6304.
