Officials say 38 seniors were forced out of their homes Saturday after a fire broke out in the attic of 38 West River St.
Most residents were asleep in their River Park apartments when the fire started after midnight. Some seniors say the blaze was caused by lightning during a storm. Officials say the building sustained a considerable amount of damage.
Reconstruction crews say there is a hole on the roof that's about 15 feet by 30 feet in size. While many residents say lighting is to blame for the fire, the cause is still under investigation.
