A popular neighborhood supermarket in Westchester Square was left in shambles after a fire severely damaged the storefront.
Fire officials say the fire broke out around 7 a.m. on the first floor of the Desh Bangla supermarket, located at 1450 Saint Peters Ave.
It took fire crews less than an hour to put out the flames inside the Bangladeshi supermarket.
Mohammad Khalilullah says he has owned the supermarket for only eight months. He says he got a call from his one of his workers telling him that smoke was coming from the shop.
Khalilullah says he's now working to rebuild.
