Fire officials say 60 people were displaced following a fire at the PT Barnum Apartments in Bridgeport on the Fourth of July.
The fire broke out around 8:45 p.m. No injuries were reported.
Witnesses say that moments before the fire began, fireworks landed on the roof of the building.
Authorities say it took 48 firefighters working into the early morning hours to fight the fire.
The Red Cross has sent the displaced residents to a temporary shelter. A woman, who is a single, working mother with two teenage children says she's worried about what is going to happen once help runs out.
Donations are being collected to help the displaced residents. More information on those efforts
