Firefighters rescue a person after their car falls down an embankment and lands 10 feet from the Naugatuck River in Beacon Falls.
The accident happened Thursday morning on Route 8 near Exit 24, authorities say.
Fire officials say the car veered off the highway, broke 250 feet of guardrail, and landed in the embankment.
The driver was taken to an area hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
