Officials: 1 person killed in Bridgeport building fire

One person was killed after a fire broke out inside a residential and commercial building in Bridgeport, firefighters say.

One person was killed after a fire broke out inside a residential and commercial building in Bridgeport, firefighters say.
The fire started on the third floor of 2353 Main St. around 8:30 a.m.
Firefighters say one person was transported to the hospital and later died.
They say the state's fire marshal was also called to the scene as a result of the victim involved in the fire.
However, officials have not released the identity of the victim.
Nick's Diner and Rosa Minimarket were forced to close for the day.
Officials say four families lived in the apartments above. The Red Cross is working to help find a place to stay for those displaced by the fire.
The fire is under investigation.
