? Firefighters rescued an elderly woman from a swamp off Route 69 in Woodbridge Sunday night.
Fire officials say they were called out at around 7 p.m. Sunday night to rescue the woman, who is about 80 years old, from Konold?s Pond. According to firefighters, the woman got lost while walking.
Firefighters say the rescue was tough because they were working in just a few inches of water, making it tough to navigate by boat. A state police helicopter was also called in to provide light during the rescue.
After three hours, the woman was rescued and taken to the hospital. Her name has not been released.
