The first West Nile Virus cases this season in Connecticut have been reported.
State health officials say the patients are from Bridgeport and West Haven.
The patients are in their 70s and are hospitalized but recovering. 
Officials say the best way to avoid West Nile Virus is to take serious precautions against mosquito bites, including not going outside early morning or late evening.
