First lady Dr. Jill Biden visited Connecticut Thursday for the second time since March.
The focus of the trip was to spread holiday cheer to military families in Connecticut.
The first lady traveled to Groton with Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro.
She visited with U.S. Navy families of the USS Delaware. Many of the families have not seen their Navy heroes who have been at sea for weeks.
Gov. Ned Lamont was at the celebration along with Lt. Commander Brian LeGare, who has served as the executive officer of the USS Delaware. He grew up in Bridgeport and says having the first lady here meant a lot to him and his family.
Dr. Biden's father was a signalman in the US Navy in the WWII, so this event had special meaning for her as well.
