Starting today, members of the public now have the chance to tour the first Mormon Temple in Connecticut.
Leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints say The Hartford Connecticut Temple, which is actually in Farmington, is only the second temple in New England and the 155th worldwide.
They say temples are sacred buildings where faithful members of the church can perform ordinances with God.
Leaders say the temple is designed after New England architecture and has artwork inside that's unique to the area.
Leaders say they hope the public enjoys the beautiful building but also finds another takeaway.
Tours of the temple are happening now through Oct. 22.
Then it will be dedicated and closed to the public in November.
