United Illuminating reported Wednesday that as of 1 p.m., three-fourths of Orange was still in the dark and that it may take days for the power to be restored.
Orange First Selectman James Zeoli says he's most worried for those with medical issues, like those in need of oxygen and lift assist. The town says they've heard complaints saying there are no UI trucks or tree crews on the road.
Zeoli says they're there and they're working as hard as they can.
The town says if you have no power, your mobile device is your best friend. Residents can charge their phones at the community center.
The community center pool is also open for people to take showers.
