A five-day journey from Maine to Arlington National Cemetery is passing through Connecticut Tuesday.
The trip called ?Wreaths Across America? is an effort to honor U.S. veterans during the holidays. A company in Maine, Worchester Wreaths, has donated wreaths to decorate veterans? graves for the past 15 years.
The Patriot Guard, which was recently formed to serve at funerals and memorials for soldiers killed in Iraq, has coordinated an escort from Maine to Arlington along Route 1. The Connecticut Patriot Guard Riders will meet with the New York riders in Darien to pass the torch.
The wreaths are expected to arrive in Arlington Thursday morning.
