Famed forensic expert Henry Lee has found liable for allegedly fabricating evidence that sent two innocent teenagers to prison 30 years ago.
As News 12 has reported, Ralph Ricky Birch and Shawn Henning were convicted of murdering Everett Carr in 1985.
At the time, officials said the conviction was based on blood stains found on a towel.
However, it has since been proven those stains were not blood.
Friday's decision means a wrongful conviction suit against Lee and others involved will go to trial.
The ruling was also critical of Attorney General William Tong, who has been defending Lee in this case.
His office tells News 12 they are reviewing the decision and evaluating next steps.
