Officials say a plea deal is expected for the Derby alderman charged in the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection. 
DiGiovanni plans to plead guilty to one misdemeanor count of entering and remaining in a restricted building, according to the law firm representing DiGiovanni. 
DiGiovanni is facing criminal charges for his alleged participation with the mob of rioters. 
Sources tell News 12 the deal needs to go before a federal judge.
