A former Stratford High School teacher who is accused of inappropriately touching a 14-year-old boy went before a judge Wednesday.
Former math teacher Gregg Gustafson's arraignment was very quick, but the judge warned him several times to stay away from the victim in the case.
Police say they first began investigating Gustafson in February after receiving a complaint that he wrestled with a student.
Documents show that three boys, which included the victim, corroborated the incident. The arrest warrant states that the victim also disclosed more information to police a few months later.
He said while Gustafson was wrestling with the teens, the teacher choked the victim with his jacket, beat him up and then reached between his legs and grabbed his crotch.
The teen's legal guardian told police he had been withdrawn and not like himself since that day.
Last month, police added charges of sexual assault, strangulation and risk of injury to a minor.
Gustafson was also previously charged with bribing a witness and tampering with evidence in the case.
