Friends and family of a Stamford man killed on Father's Day are preparing to say their final goodbyes.
Felipe Peter Soto, also known as "Petey," was killed in Bridgeport after police say a speeding car slammed into him with such force that it split Soto's car in two.
An accident reconstruction team returned to the scene Wednesday to continue investigating. Debris still covered the sidewalks as loved ones maintain a nearby memorial. Soto leaves behind two children.
News 12 is told that food and cooking were Soto's passions, but family was paramount. He worked at the Cove Beach Grill and Pat's Hubba Hubba in Stamford.
Police say the driver who struck Soto remains hospitalized with serious injuries. They expect to file charges against him.
Soto's family is raising money for an education fund for his children. His wake will be held Thursday evening.
