Students at Bullard Havens Technical High School are mourning the loss of an 18-year-old that was killed in a car crash Friday.

Friends referred to Peter Tsiknis as a gentle giant as they mourned his death Monday evening.

Family members say Tsikinis dropped his girlfriend off Friday and was on his way to work when the accident occurred. State troopers say he skidded and crossed several lanes of traffic and struck a tree and then his car caught fire.

"He was kind, caring [and] goofy," girlfriend Jesslyn Rivera says. "He was like a dream. He was the best person in the world."

The wake for Tsiknis is scheduled for Tuesday, followed by a funeral on Wednesday.
