The Harris Hill Farm in New Milford was a working dairy farm up until the mid-1980s. It then transitioned into a pick-your-own pumpkin farm.
The farm welcomes families on the weekends during October. They can come visit the farm animals, take a hayride and pick pumpkins in the field.
The farm also has the picnic tables at which families can relax.
They offer a variety of gourds, from mini pumpkins to jumbo pumpkins.
There is also a small corn maze that consists of corn trivia throughout. Visitors get a card with 10 questions, to which answers they will find scattered through and around in the maze on signs.
The maze is about 2 acres, so it's meant to be family-friendly and suitable for young children.
Harris Hill Farm is located at one of the highest elevations in Litchfield County with rolling hills just to the east of the farm.
The farm also has a barn that consists of sheep, goats, chickens and turkeys. Families can also view the cows around the pasture.
The farm offer hayrides for no charge. They are about 10 minutes in length.
There are also restaurants and shops near the farm as well as an apple orchard and a cider mill on Park Lane.
