The funeral for two of three Connecticut men killed in a Maryland plane crash was held Thursday in Riverside.
Gregory Doppke, of Greenwich, and Richard Lomas, of Stamford, were business partners and best friends. They were killed, along with a third man, Andrew Young, when the plane Doppke owned and piloted crashed in Maryland. The trio had taken off from a Westchester airport and was headed to North Carolina.
Family and friends say it was only fitting that the two best friends had their funeral together. Doppke, 62, and Lomas, 58, owned ABM Air Conditioning and Plumbing in Stamford and Hawthorne, NY.
The funeral was held at Saint Catherine Church.
Meanwhile, the National Transportation Safety Board is still investigating the crash. It plans to release a preliminary report next week.
