A funeral was held Thursday for Luis Colon, the 14-year-old Bridgeport boy who died after a stray bullet struck him on Christmas Eve.
Hundreds of people visited the Luz de Paz Funeral Home on East Washington Avenue to remember Colon, who was a ninth-grader at Harding High School.
Attendees ranged from the teen's school bus driver to Mayor Joe Ganim. City Councilwoman Eneida Martinez and members of the murder victims' support group, You Are Not Alone, also attended.
Colon's body was buried at Park Cemetery.
Investigators say Colon was an innocent bystander running errands for his mother at the time of the shooting.
Police say they've arrested the alleged drug dealer and shooter in the incident. Michael Majors, 23, is facing a murder charge.
The nonprofit group Connecticut Against Violence will host a ceremony at Harding High School at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5 to celebrate the slain teen's life.
