The swearing-in ceremony for Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim was held on Wednesday night at the Margaret E. Morton Government Center.
Ganim says he wants to keep the focus on the future and move past a "difficult period" in the city's history.
Allegations of voter fraud led Ganim to the courts, prompting the Secretary of the State's office to intervene in the election process.
But Ganim says his takeaway is that he won four times and plans to use the mandate that comes with winning by a wide margin to implement "continued economic growth in the city.
"That, along with holding the line on taxes three years in a row, more money for education and for a hundred new police officers," said Ganim.
Ganim is now on track to be the city's longest-serving mayor.
