Officials are investigating a fatal accident on Havemeyer Place in Greenwich.

Police say the accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. Thursday in front of the Greenwich Police Department. According to police, a truck was emptying dumpsters in an alley off Havemeyer Place. Police say the truck hit the woman as it was backing out and crossed over the sidewalk.

The woman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The truck was taken to the Greenwich weigh station where it was investigated by police and inspectors.
