Residents in southwestern Connecticut are seeing gas prices starting to rise again, which has some upset and state lawmakers looking into the issue.
"We're just trying to make a living, put gas in our cars, do our every day business and they're making more and more money," Wendy Papageorge says.
While crude oil is up and the demand for it is down, U.S. Rep Jim Himes (D-4th District) says that he is planning to look into possible price gauging by gas station owners.
"I think that we should make absolute sure that the oil companies and others are not taking advantage of our consumers, it's important right now, people are hurting," Rep. Himes says.
State leaders are asking federal authorities to look into the increases to prevent gas prices that are already higher in Connecticut from becoming more expensive.
