A cold front is slowly moving across the region today, as Hurricane Arthur bears down on the East Coast.
The cold front will move in and gradually dissipate, while interacting with tropical moisture from Arthur. This will likely result in numerous heavy downpours and thunderstorms.
By this afternoon, the greatest threats of rainfall will shift east of New York City.
Today's temperatures are expected to reach the middle and upper 70s to near 80.
The heavy rain has caused the holiday fireworks that were originally scheduled for Thursday night at the Co-op City Little League field to be postponed until Saturday.
