A GoFundMe campaign raised over $55,000 in one day after a Westport man was killed in a car crash on I-95.
Police say the car lost control while changing lanes and that 20-year-old Brian Andersen, who was in the back seat, was ejected and later died.
The driver and another passenger survived.
Andersen was the oldest son of Westport music teacher Lou Kitchner. Michael Hermus, a close friend of Kitchner, started the GoFundMe campaign.
Andersen moved back to Connecticut a few months ago from Indiana and was planning to go to college in the Connecticut area. He wanted to pursue a career in finance.
Andersen is also survived by his mother and sister who are living in Indiana.
