Gov. Lamont announces Connecticut's 1st coronavirus death
Gov. Ned Lamont announced Wednesday that the state has seen its first coronavirus-related death.

The first coronavirus-related death has been reported in Connecticut, Gov. Ned Lamont announced.
The 88-year-old man who died lived in a Ridgefield assisted living facility, and was recently admitted to Danbury Hospital, Lamont says.
Lamont made the announcement Wednesday during a press conference.

"I want to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and medical professionals at the hospital who did everything in their power to save his life. I also want to acknowledge the dedicated professionals from hospitals and medical centers throughout our state who continue to work on the front lines and treat patients, in addition to all of the support staff who are providing critical assistance through this trying time," Lamont said in a statement.
