Gov. Ned Lamont announced Wednesday that taxes on beer are being reduced by 16.7% as part of the state budget he signed into law.

Lamont says the tax reduction is part of Connecticut's efforts to support its craft brewery industry.
The National Beer Wholesalers Association says beer brewed in the state brings in $2.9 billion.
