Gov. Ned Lamont has officially asked state lawmakers to extend his emergency powers until Feb. 15.
He is calling a special session of the Connecticut General Assembly next week.
The governor is asking lawmakers to renew vaccine requirements for state workers, teachers and health and long-term care workers, plus mask mandates for schools and the unvaccinated indoors.
He also wants to issue two new orders to expand the vaccine mandate and cut the cost of unemployment insurance for employers.
