Gov. Ned Lamont said Monday during his COVID-19 briefing that 95% of the state's economy will reopen in Phase 2.
The state will move into Phase 2 on June 17. Lamont also said he will be waiting to see what impact, if any, the recent demonstrations will have in terms of the pandemic.
He said the world is battling two pandemics - COVID-19, which attacks the body, and racism, which attacks the soul.
Lamont also announced Monday that he's ordering an independent, third-party review of what went wrong inside the state's nursing homes and assisted living facilities when it came to responding to the pandemic.
He wants the investigation completed before the fall.
More than 60% of COVID-19 deaths in Connecticut have been among nursing home residents.
