Gov. Ned Lamont's Deputy Communications Director Rob Blanchard confirmed on Twitter that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
He says he didn't display symptoms of the virus until Friday, and had been tested as recently as Thursday.
Chief of Staff Paul Mounds announced Saturday that one of Lamont's staff members had contracted coronavirus, but didn't specify who.

The staff member was in the proximity of Governor Lamont as recently as Thursday, but the governor does not meet the criteria for close contact as outlined in the CDC guidelines.
