Gov. Ned Lamont administered the oath of office to the newest class of Superior Court judges and family support magistrates Tuesday.
He nominated these individuals earlier this year and they were later confirmed by the General Assembly.
Before swearing them in, Lamont emphasized the importance of being transparent in their rulings.
"And a lot of people are champions of the constitution, champions of law when it's convenient, but not always when it's the right thing to do. And that's why we have the courts. That's why each and every one of you are here. To make sure that you rule in favor without fear of prejudice and stand up,” said Lamont.
Twenty Superior Court judges and two family support magistrates were sworn in Tuesday.
