Gov. Ned Lamont held a news conference to update the public on Connecticut's economy reopening plan ahead of the second phase, which is slated to happen next week.
The governor spoke outside of the Connecticut Science Center in Hartford, which is expected to open during the second phase of the economy plan next week.
Lamont says 95% of the state’s economy will be reopened on June 17.
However, many services like the Department of Motor Vehicles are still closed or only available in a limited capacity.
Lamont says his administration has learned a lot about the public health care crisis, and that the need for hospitals and health experts at the table to plan and combat an emergency like the COVID-19 pandemic is critical.
Officials at the science center say they will reopen at a loss to begin the process, but have a responsibility to take care of each other and continue to educate the community on science.
