Gov. Dannel Malloy was in Norwalk Wednesday to discuss the nearly complete construction project on I-95.
Malloy was joined by local and state officials and members of the Department of Transportation for a news conference at the Fairfield Avenue Overpass.
The governor says the state is working on completing a project that involves opening an additional lane in each direction between exits 14 and 15. Malloy says the project is a long-term effort that will ease the commute for many drivers.
The additional lane is already open on the northbound side of I-95. The new southbound lane is expected to be complete by next month.
