Governor Dannel Malloy will hold a meeting Thursday with other state and local officials to discuss a strategy on how to fight crime in Bridgeport.
News 12 is told Mayor Joe Ganim and Police Chief AJ Perez will be attending the meeting, as well as members of the Department of Justice and the FBI.
The meeting follows the deadly shooting of 18-year-old Shane Slinksy over the weekend and the shooting that left 13 people injured following a house party earlier this month.
Perez says patrols have been increased across the Park City following the recent surge in violence.
Mayor Joe Ganim says he's infuriated by the violence.
"We're not going to tolerate that in the city of Bridgeport," he says."The perception and the reality are going to change quickly."
The meeting Thursday is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the State Police Troop G location. It will not be open to the public.
