BRIEFING UPDATES:
-Hospitalizations in Fairfield and New Haven are flattening. Hartford has gone up.
-Cases in the state:
- 15,884 people have tested positive for COVID-19 (+1,129)
- 1,926 patients are hospitalized (+18)
- 971 fatalities (+103)
- 53,122 patients tested (+2,979)
-Gov. Lamont had a teleconference with President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence on reopening. It will be left up to the governors.
-Reopen Connecticut Advisory Board will feature a business representative, labor representative, scientific representative.
-Heading up the team is former Pepsi CEO Indra Nooy and Yale Epidemiologist Dr. Albert Ko.
-Reopening will be based on testing and regions. They want to do it as quickly and as safely as possible.
-Appropriate testing, wearing masks can help businesses like nail salons, hair salons open in the future.
-Travelers Golf Tournament will be held in June without fans.
-In order to reopen, there needs to be a 14-day decline of cases and hospitalizations, adequate supply of PPE, continued social distancing regulations.
-Reopening will still require social distancing.
-Dr. Ko says it is hard to expect a certain number of deaths.
