Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell spoke Tuesday about her decision to not seek re-election in 2010.
Rell announced Monday evening that she will not run for re-election next year. She says it is time for her to move on and claimed there was no particular reason.
Rell says she couldn't keep her decision a secret any longer after last week's election had passed. "I'm thinking I can't mislead people to say I haven't made a decision yet when I knew I had," says Rell.
The election race for 2010 is already gaining many contenders on both Democratic and Republican sides. Rell will still be the state's top executive for the next 14 months.
