In the spirit of Earth Day, motorists in Stamford got the chance to see what it's like to drive an all-electric car.
The event, which was held Tuesday at the headquarters of Sustainable America, informed guests about the benefits of driving an electric vehicle. Guests who attended the event had to have some involvement or interest in the green energy movement.
Organizers say the goal of the event was to convince attendees that electric car technology is available to them for everyday use.
Many people who attended the event said that they enjoyed driving the electric vehicles, but are worried there aren't enough charging stations for them.
Despite electric cars taking hours to recharge and having less range than a gas-operated car, advocates say that the vehicles are still practical.
