Remento, a mixture of remember and memento, is a service where a hardcover book is created out of stories loved one’s share.
"We print them into a hardcover book that has QR codes and when you scan them, play the recording that was used to write each chapter,” explains co-founder and CEO Charlie Greene.
The idea for the digital storytelling service bloomed from a realization Greene had when his mother was diagnosed with cancer.
"We sat down to record an oral history interview and as I asked her questions about her childhood, like 'How did you get to elementary school growing up?' I was absolutely blown away by how much I learned through those conversations. It left me wondering why it had taken my mom getting cancer to actually learn about the memories and moments that that made her the person she became,” recalls Greene.
A year ago, Greene was contacted by "Shark Tank," asking him to pitch the idea to the sharks, the very idea that made his mother’s memories everlasting.
"Standing among people I have come to respect so deeply was a truly out of body moment...such a "pinch me" moment,” said Greene.
